For those that are looking for ways to market their business without using the more popular Internet and social marketing ways, then they are looking for offline marketing techniques. There are many of those out there, however, the person needs to realize that each come with their own sets of risks and so forth. One of those that people are going to find works in most cases is the use of banners. Banners are huge pieces of advertising that the person can hang on to their store that is going to grab the attention of those that are passing by, and hopefully make them want to stop and in and see what you have to offer. Once you get into the store then half the work is done for you, and you simply need to make a sale. However, before that there are several tips that the person needs to keep in mind when it comes to the banners in order to make them successful.

First off, make sure that the banner is something that people are going to notice. If you make the banner white with black letters, then you are really not giving it that stand out appearance that you need to grab the attention of others. Most people like to use a colored banner with white or black blocked letters, depending on the background color in order to make sure that people see what they are saying.

Also consider the font that you are using, do not use something that is hard to read. Keep in mind that people are passing by and they may not have the time to stop and decipher out the words if they are too bunched up or simply due to the font choice are too hard to read. In addition, make sure that you are keeping the message short and sweet. For example, if you are a new business then the words ‘Grand Opening’ is a great way to get some reaction from those that are passing by since they are going to want to see what you have to offer. If you are having a huge sale, then include the words ‘sale’ somewhere on the banner to get the attention of those that are passing by.

As far as location of these banners, most people prefer to put them onto the store’s front. It will let people know that you are located right there and they are going to not have to worry about finding the store.

Posted by Dan Feildman | Articles | Thursday 28 April 2011 7:29 AM

For those that are looking for offline marketing techniques for their business beyond vinyl lettering on your wall, they are wanting to find those things that are not going to require that they have the use of the Internet. One of these techniques is the press release, and what is even better about the press release is that the person does not have to pay to have their press release published in publications. Most newspapers, magazines and so forth are going to take the press release because they are able to direct the consumer base to use the business, and for newspapers, this is a great way to focus on the new businesses in the community. Which is something that people want to read in their local paper. So how should one go about writing a press release?

The best way is to target your audience. Who is it that would shop or do business with your company? Once you have identified them, then consider what types of magazines or newspapers that they would read. Once you know this, then you know what publication target you are going to use in order to release the press release.

Now that you know just what audience you are targeting and the publications that you are wanting to target, then you need to make sure that you are going to write these press release correctly. You can look at the past press releases that the magazine or newspaper has released and then model yours after this, which is the best way to make sure that you are getting everything current and the publication will use your press release to fill their space.

So when writing the press release, you want to target the main things about the business. Location, is the most important, but you also want to provide a reason for why the person should use your business. What is it that your business provides that is going to help the person in their life? You will want to make sure that you highlight this as well. Read through other press release and basically follow the same format that they use. Note just how many times they mention a phone number, web address, or business location throughout the communication, you will want to aim for the same amount of time if you can.

Send these completed press releases to all the publications that you are considering and then go from there. Some publications may not release this right away, but since this is a free way to market your business, beggars cannot be choosy.
