The definition of a niche is simply something which is desirable to the masses. Hopefully the outline below will bring clarity to you and set you on the right path on how to choose a niche.

To have a niche in today’s fast paste ever-changing market place is something to be treasured. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, IBM all identified a niche and farmed that sector to it’s fullest. You can also be up there with the greats.

Lets talk some more about you. What sets you apart from your wife, your husband, your friends, your children or just the old lady next door? Here is something earth shattering – it’s your uniqueness. This wonderful trait we all share can bring in the money like you have never seen before. You see it gives you leverage to be able to stand out in a crowd, or in this case, your niche market. Never under estimate your uniqueness as it is there to help you become successful.

The most popular way by far is to utilize the tools that are at your fingers tips. By this I mean searching for keywords and search phrases. Just to name a few: Wordtracker, Google Trends, Click Bank and Amazon can be of great help. Here you would look for a pattern or rhythms in the market. Don’t waste your time comparing 100′s of results, just the top 5 or 10 would do. Always look for areas that interest you first. You see finding your niche isn’t just about finding what people are buying now. It’s also matching your interests to a specific search term or keyword. This way you kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

You might have one or two passions which you could turn into a niche for the market place. Well no one says you can’t have many niches. This depends on your stamina and drive. But say for argument sake you have two distinct passions. My advise to you would be rather to choose the niche which will be the most profitable.

The most important factor to take into consideration of course is; will your niche be profitable? The old saying amongst the conventional business leaders “find a gap in the market and fill that gap”, is still true today.

So the question shouldn’t be how to find your niche, it should be how to recognize your niche. You see you had it all along, you just needed someone to point it out to you.
